Herringbone Heritage comprises alterations and additions to a heritage-listed timber cottage in Bendigo. The clients valued the character and heritage qualities of the existing house but needed it to expand and adapt to accommodate their growing family and contemporary way of living.
The design takes a considered approach to where the cottage is extended and how new spaces are introduced. Rather than overwhelming the original house, the additions balance old and new—retaining what is valued while thoughtfully creating the space and amenity needed for contemporary family life.
